Elite Dojo Milwaukee Martial Arts

Head Sensei and Founder Rick Reshel

Opened his first martial arts school in 1973. Has been practicing and teaching martial arts for nearly four decades. He has taught and lectured on martial arts instruction, women's self defense and children's safety at universities, high schools, businesses and other civic organizations. These include marquette university, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and Mount Mary College. During his time at MM he taught an accredited women's self-defense program for several years. He is founder of The Elite Dojo and of a non-profit organization - Operation: KickStart. This program offers scholarships and grants to deserving students and provides access the positive benefits of the arts. He has also been featured on many local television and radio programs, and has competed throughout the midwest, having many championships to his credit.

His personal philosophy as founder of the Elite Dojo, is to use peace in ones life as much as possible. He believes that peace starts with the individual and extends to family, community and ultimately the world. He also realizes that we are human beings with emotions. Aggression, being part of that emotional structure. The key is how we channel this aggression. The Dojo mat space gives us a format to purge our aggression constructively, to leave it on the mat space and and give it a place of honor.

"It is an absolute privilege to have so many skilled martial arts instructors on the staff of the Elite Dojo. They bring excellent quality to the diverse curriculum that we teach. Their martial arts expertise is only exceeded by the quality and conduct of their character."

- Founder, Sensei Rick Reshel, Elite Dojo
